Metastasis
Metastasis
means the spread of cancer from its original site to other
parts of the body, usually through the bloodstream or lymphatic system.
When cancer has metastasized, it has a higher staging number and is
more widely dispersed in the body. Cells in the metastatic (secondary)
tumor are like those in the original (primary) tumor.
