Bone Cancer

Bone cancer has a number of causes, types, and treatment measures. Researchers are still trying to find out more about this strange cancer. There are 2 main types of cancer that are found in bone: secondary and primary. Secondary, or metastatic Bone Cancer, is a type of Bone Cancer that did not start in the bone, but rather has spread to the bone from other organs. A typical example is when lung cancer spreads to the bones, causing Bone Cancer. The cells of the cancer look like lung cancer cells, not bone cancer cells, even after they have spread from the lungs to the bones. So, Primary Bone Cancer, is the type of Bone Cancer that does start in the bone.

There are many different treatments for Bone Cancer, from common ones like surgery, to uncommon ones such as herbal remedies. Make sure you consult your doctor on which Bone Cancer treatment would be right for you, as each has it’s pros and cons. You will, however, need to do extensive Bone Cancer research, if you want to find out more treatment options.

There are several different types of bone tumors. Some primary bone tumors can be benign (not cancerous), while others are malignant (cancerous). Most Bone Cancers are known as Sarcomas. These Bone Cancer Sarcomas are cancers that mostly develop from bone, cartilage, muscle, fibrous tissue, fatty tissue, or nerve tissue. There are many types of Bone Cancer tumors such as Osteosarcoma, Chondrosarcoma, Ewing's tumor, and Chordoma. If you want to find out more, don’t hesitate to ask your doctor.

And make sure that if you are at risk for Bone Cancer, or think you have Bone Cancer, to make an appointment with your Doctor, as this can make the difference between the Bone Cancer being treatable and untreatable.
