Liver Cancer
The
most common type of liver cancer in
adults is Hepato-cellular carcinoma (malignant), which makes up
75% of all primary liver cancers. There are about 16,600 cases on
average in the USA. Mostly adults get this type of cancer and the
rate is higher among people older than 60 years. Men are twice as
likely to get the cancer compared to women.
Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular) has different
types of growth patterns. Some being as a tumor
which slowly expands and spread across the liver. The second kind
spreads across the liver like tentacles and is not confined to a
single tumor. This pattern is more common.
Symptoms of liver cancer:
· Pain in upper right abdominal area.
· Loss of appetite and weight loss
· Fatigue which is due to buildup of ammonia
· Jaundice
