How Taken
Feldene should be taken as per the doctor’s prescription. The drug should be taken with foods to avoid stomach ache.
Warnings/Precautions
You have to inform your doctor about all your medical conditions before he prescribes Feldene. Tell him if you are allergic to any medicine or any substance, including the ingredients in Feldene.
Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, blood disorders, clotting problems, kidney or liver diseases, diabetes, asthma, nasal polyps and mouth inflammation. Inform the doctor if you have dehydration, low blood sodium levels. Do not hide from your doctor if you drink alcohol, or if you have a history of alcohol abuse.
Feldene should not be used by pregnant women and those who hope to become pregnant as it can cause harm to the unborn babe. Mothers should have to avoid breast feeding as the drug is excreted into the breast milk.
You should also inform your doctor about all the medications that you are taking as certain medicines are known to interact with Feldene. The drug is not prescribed if you recently had a Bypass heart surgery. Feldene should not be used if you are taking another NSAID. Do not take aspirin while taking Feldene.
Feldene can cause serious stomach ulcers and bleeding. These can worsen if the drug is taken in high doses for a long time or if you take alcohol.
In any case if you experience stomach/back pain, tarry stools, vomits looking like blood or coffee grounds and unusual weight gain, you should have to consult your doctor immediately as these can be causes of severe side effects. The drug should be used with caution in elderly people and children.
Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, take it before the next dosage. But if it is almost time for the next dosage, just skip the missed one and continue with the regular dosages. Never mix the two doses.
Overdose
Loss of consciousness, dizziness, decreased urination, seizures, nausea, stomach pain, slow breathing, unusual bleeding and vomits looking like coffee grounds are some of the symptoms of over dosage. If you suspect an over dose, contact your doctor immediately.

Feldene causes dizziness. This can worsen if the drug is taken along with other medicines or if mixed with alcohol. You should not drive or perform any hard task until you know how your body reacts to the drug. You have to strictly follow your doctor’s direction while taking Feldene.
