Imdur is prescribed for preventing angina.
How Taken
Imdur should be taken only according to your doctor’s direction. The drug can be taken with food or without food. Care should be taken that the tablet is not crushed, broken or chewed; take the tablet whole. You should never stop the drug or lower the dosage without consulting your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions before he prescribes Imdur. You have to inform the physician if you are allergic to any medicine food or any substance, including the ingredients in Imdur.
Intimate your doctor if you have any heart problems (heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart attack), overactive thyroid, low blood pressure, blood problems, dehydration, bleeding in the brain or if you had any head injury.
Pregnant women and those who hope to get pregnant have to take Imdur only after discussing with the doctor about the risks and benefits of taking the drug during the period. As the drug is found in breast milk, it is better to avoid feeding during the medication. Well, if you cannot avoid feeding, discuss with your doctor about the possible risks involved.
Before your doctor prescribes Imdur, you should have to inform him about all the medications that you are on as certain medicines are seen to interact with the drug. Imdur should be avoided if are taking a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (Tadalafil, sildenafil, vardenafil).
Alcohol should be avoided while taking Imdur. It is common to have headache while you are on Imdur medication.

Missed Dose
There is nothing to worry if a dose is missed as it can be taken as soon as you remember it. But if it is almost time for the regular dosage, skip the missed one and continue with the regular dosages. Care should be taken that two doses are not taken at the same time.
Overdose
Breathing problems, fainting, dizziness, fever, flushing, headache, irregular heartbeat, nausea, paralysis, loss of appetite, sweating, visual problems and vomiting are some of the symptoms of an over dose of Imdur. If you suspect an over dose, seek immediate medical attention.

Imdur causes dizziness. This can worsen if the drug is taken along with other medicines or if mixed with alcohol. It is better not to drive or perform any hard task unless you know about the drug’s reaction on your body.
The drug should not be shared with others. Always follow your doctors direction while taking Imdur.
