Drug Uses
Paracetamol is used for treating headache, joint pain, muscle aches, the common cold, toothache, flu and menstrual cramps. The drug can be used by adults and children.

How Taken
Take the drug as prescribed by your doctor. You should not take more doses as it can only complicate matters.

Warnings/Precautions
Before Paracetamol is prescribed, you should have to tell your doctor if you have any allergies to any particular substance, food or any medicine. Just inform your doctor if you have liver damage or any kidney problems.

If you are pregnant or hoping to get pregnant, better discuss about the benefits and risks involved in taking the drug during that period. Even if you are breast feeding, you have to discuss with your doctor about the risks involved to your baby.

As like other drugs, certain medicines are known to interact with Paracetamol. It is better to inform your doctor about all the medications that you are taking before he prescribes the drug. Alcohol should be avoided while taking Paracetamol.

Missed Dose
There is nothing to worry if a dose is missed. Take the drug as soon as you remember it. But if it is time for the next dosage, skip the missed one. Never mix the two doses.

Overdose
Excessive sweating, dark urine, nausea, fatigue and vomiting are some of the symptoms of Paracetamol over dosage. Better inform contact your doctor if you suspect an over dose.


More Information
Paracetamol causes dizziness and it can worsen if mixed with alcohol or any other medicine. After taking the drug, do not drive or perform any hard task unless you know how it reacts in your body.
